The “A Vision of Students Today” video showed that the use of technology matters because it can be very useful and helpful when it comes to schoolwork but it can also work the complete opposite and create problems. It made me wonder about how technology has impacted America and the world and the pros and cons of it. In many ways, it has improved our efficiency and effectiveness of learning. The college students in the video showed that in some cases technology has taken over their lives. Some people watch over 2 hours of TV a day and others spend more than 3 hours on the computer, most of it being on Facebook or another social networking site. People are on their phone 2 hours each day and because of all this technology students only get 7 hours of sleep. Some college students use technology the wrong way during class and don’t even pay attention to what they are supposed to be learning because they are so distracted. Soon all of those textbooks everyone buys for school that are never opened will all be online and maybe will actually be used. I learned that you have to be careful when it comes to technology. It can be very helpful and and effective but if you use it the wrong way your life will start falling apart and your life will only be virtual.
